Key West Hammerhead Fishing Report
February 20, 2010

John Ridley from Bernardsville, NJ brought his sons Dave and Kitt down for a couple of days of fishing with David and I on the Lethal Weapon. Yesterday we had a fun day trolling to the west in the blue water. The fish were widely spaced, and a little apathetic at best, but we managed to subdue three Tunas and a Mackeral. David Esky mentioned that he was having a problem with Sharks at Eyeglass Bar during the week, so we decided to try and help him out. We caught a couple Mackeral, one huge Yellowtail Snapper that the Sharks promptly ate as soon as we put him down for live-bait, but we missed that one. About an hour later, all Hell broke loose, and we were strapped to this #200 Hammerhead that was all Dave could handle for about 30 minutes before the tide turned and David was able to get a round into his head. The fight was over soon after, and this beauty is headed for Dave's wall! The guys will be back for Kitt"s fish. Tight Lines and Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
