For the finest in Key West deep sea-fishing consider the charter boat LETHAL WEAPON,
an immaculate 43' Post sport-fisherman, very upscale, air-conditioned,
and fully fish-rigged for all your angling
needs. Captain Ted and his professional crew fish at least 325 days a
year, and we always know where the fish are. We are perennially one of the
top ten agents world-wide for Gray Taxidermy, increasing your odds for
a trophy fish. Custom private charters and happy people are our
specialty, and we can design a trip for any family or group.
Half day, three-quarter day, full day, and multi-day trips can be arranged for
novice to expert anglers using light or heavy tackle. We fish the deep
blue-water south of Key West for marlin, sailfish, wahoo, tuna, dolphin,
and shark, the reef for snapper, barracuda, mackeral, jacks, and grouper.
Our back-country targets are shark, permit, and tarpon, with a few sawfish
thrown in for good measure. At night we chase either big sharks or spectacular
swordfish off the edge of the continental shelf.
Multi-day trips find us out west in the Dry Tortugas National Park where
we have all permits and licenses to fish in and around the park. The park
is 70 miles west of Key West and is an untapped area of near-virgin fishing
waters. The park has always been protected from any form of commercial fishing,
and recreational fishing is only allowed with a federal permit. Tarpon, permit
and huge sharks are our favorite victims on the Tortugas trip.
In the Tortugas, we stay on the boat, fish all day, tour Fort Jefferson in the
late afternoon, then target the tarpon and shark in the evening.
Yes, Captain Ted is a good cook! Bring plenty of film on this excursion. By the
way, sore arms are a guarantee on this one.
Captain Ted Specializes in finding the largest specimens of bull,
tiger, hammerhead, lemon, and mako sharks around Key West and the Dry
Tortugas. Live and dead bait and chum are used depending on the conditions
and the target species. In fact, his #717 mako shark is still the largest fish
caught by anyone in a Key West tournament. Shark trips are a minimum of a half
day and can last three to four days depending on the angler's stamina.
Remember SHARKS "R" US.
